Interview for Ženy s.r.o.

February 26, 2019

In this personal interview, I reflect on the sources of my inspiration, the tensions of womanhood, and the path that led me from childhood dreams in Liberec to sculptural studies in Prague and beyond. I share what fulfills me most today — creating art, teaching drawing, and living in a relationship built on care and partnership. We also touch on menstruation, motherhood, books that shaped me, and how I cope with moments of inner crisis.

In this interview, I talk about:

  • how I followed my dream of becoming a sculptor from age 15 — from stone carving school to UMPRUM,
  • why I combine teaching and creating, and how both practices nourish different parts of me,
  • what femininity means to me — blood, hormones, the ability to give life, and the right not to,
  • which books and thinkers inspire my work (neuroscience, psychology, Roth, Lessing, Dick),
  • why TEDx 2018 was a healing experience and helped me reconnect with the joy of making,
  • how I rest: walking, sleep, The Kominsky Method, and protecting my time and energy.
